AEROMIDE is soluble in usual lacquer solvents (Ethers, Ketones and Automatic Hydrocarbons). It is insoluble in Aliphatic Hydrocarbons and Vegetable Oils. AEROMIDE is the clearest and most brilliant resin available which is a unique modifier and adhesion promoter for film forming natural and synthetic resins.
ADVANTAGE OF AEROMIDE IN THE FORMULATIONS OF NAIL LACQUER:-
In Nitrocellulose composition, AEROMIDE is having very high compatibility. Addition of AEROMIDE in the formulation of Nail Polish Lacquer improves adhesions, gloss and brightness of the end product without noticeable odour. These are some of the important properties that make it outstanding for use in the formulating Nail Polish Lacquer. Also, in Nitrocellulose films, AEROMIDE increases moisture resistance and hardness. In Nitrocellulose lacquer, it develops lower solution viscosity than most other resins. In both film and coating it is also lighter stable than many natural resins in Nail Polish, AEROMIDE reduces whitening and water spotting, which are major advantages in quality Nail Lacquers.
APPLICATIONS OF AEROMIDE IN OTHER FORMULATIONS:-
The softening point of AEROMIDE about 68Ëš C makes this resins a useful component in heat sealing formulations.
In cellulose acetate formulations: - Since AEROMIDE is insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons they are utilized in oil and gasoline resistant coatings.
In Ethyl cellulose formulations: - As AEROMIDE increases flexibility, toughness and improves moisture and oil resistance, it gives well out door weathering properties to films. The film remains brilliant with improved adhesion.
In Polyvinyl acetate formulations: - In polyvinyl acetate adhesives, AEROMIDE imparts quick tack, excellent clarity, toughness and water resistance. It is especially useful in adhesives for bonding cellophane to cellophane of to paer and for bonding aluminum foil to itself to paper.
In Vinyl lacquers formulations: - AEROMIDE greatly improves adhesion and gloss without materially changing hardness, flexibility and makes possible high solids content formulations.
In Polyamide formulations: - AEROMIDE acts as an extender resin does not detract from desirable properties of the polyamide.
As it has low order of toxicity, it is used in food packing applications.
